Day 9 Tips: Hawk to hammer in the half centuries

It feels like an age since Kyren Wilson got the bye into this round with Anthony Hamilton withdrawing. Has all this waiting affected the Warrior? We’ll soon find out. I can only hope he’s prepared well (and mentally) as he’s facing a real form horse in qualifier, Martin Gould.

Had Gould not qualified, he told the media he had a retirement speech at the ready. In that sense, I’m so pleased he’s made it to this round. Can’t have a player of his ilk retiring. When Martin is on his top form, he’s without doubt a top 16 calibre of player. He’s got all the shots, a good brain and can score very heavily, much like he’s done in his four victories to get here.
