Well, the curse has done it’s magic again, for a 21st time. Judd Trump the latest to fail to burst the bubble, and it has to be said it’s been coming all event. He had his moments but the lack of crowd, which I thought pre event would be a hindrance to Trump, did the ‘gallery player’ no favours. Wilson did a real number on him, punishing every single error. It’s probably less so now since he’s become a World champion and World number one but I get the impression it’s still in Judd’s mind about his record against Kyren.
The Warrior plays the game like John Higgins and Mark Selby. Super tight in every department and hard as granite. You know they can’t crack mentally, their temperament is second to none and they are pretty damn good when they get in too. Kyren has clearly worked on his break building as he’s hit 21 breaks over 50 in his 26 frames won so far. A fair few thought Judd was a cert but I really did fancy Wilson, especially in this format over three sessions.
