Weekend SPFL Tips: My Five Best Bets in the SPFL – 24/08/19

Ross County vs Livingston – Ross County ‘Draw no Bet’ @ 1.57

Ross County have had a positive start to the season as they currently sit third in the Premiership table behind the two Old Firm clubs after the first couple of games. They have begun the new campaign with a win over Hamilton at home before drawing 0-0 at Hearts. Livingston have also had an unbeaten start as they have drawn both of their opening games.

These two clubs haven’t met since 2012 but it is Ross County who have had the success when they do meet, winning four of the last five. Back last season’s Championship winners to continue their positive and unbeaten start by opting for the Draw no Bet option in case things end all square.

Alloa vs Arbroath – Over 2.5 goals @ 1.70

Alloa vs Arbroath is a meeting between the bottom two clubs in the Scottish Championship after the first couple of games. I think 1.70 is a good price for over 2.5 goals in this match as that was the case in both of their last outings. Alloa were beaten 4-1 by Greenock Morton and Arbroath were beaten 2-1 by Inverness.

The last four meetings between these two have ended 2-3, 4-2, 3-2 and 5-3. I fancy them to conjure up another goal fest on Saturday afternoon.

Clyde vs Falkirk – Falkirk to win @ 1.57

Clyde enjoyed promotion last season, but they are currently struggling to adapt to life in League One. They sit bottom of the table with just a solitary point taken from their opening three games, yet Falkirk lead the way at the top having taken seven points from their first three.

This should be a routine win for Falkirk who have won back-to-back games, scoring eight goals. Whereas, Clyde have lost back-to-back games, conceding eight goals.

Stirling vs Cove Rangers – Cove Rangers to score 2+ goals @ 1.66

Cove Rangers have had a dream start since their promotion to the SPFL, they sit top of League Two with seven points after their first three games. They battered Edinburgh City 5-0 on the opening day, drew 4-4 with Albion Rovers before beating Cowdenbeath 3-2. They certainly know where the net is.

Stirling have played three and lost three. They have had a really poor start and they are yet to even score a goal of their own. I think the best bet here is Cove to score 2+ goals at 1.66. They have managed to score at least three in every game so far, and Stirling should be the latest side to feel their wrath.

Albion Rovers vs Brechin City– Over 2.5 goals @ 1.60

Albion host struggling Brechin this weekend and this game screams goals. There have been 18 goals scored across Albion’s first three games of the season, an average of six goals a game! Their last outing at home was a hectic 4-4 draw with the impressive Cove Rangers.

Brechin have lost their last six away games on the trot in all competitions, with each game seeing over 2.5 goals. We could be set for another goal-fest on Saturday.
