Inverness CT vs Arbroath – Inverness CT to win @ 1.57
Inverness began the new season with a disappointing 4-1 defeat away against Dundee United so they will want to put that right as soon as possible. They have the perfect opportunity to do so on Saturday afternoon as they host the recently promoted Arbroath at the Caledonian Stadium.
John Robertson’s side should have too much for Arbroath and come away with the three points. Inverness have dominated the head-to-head winning the last nine meetings in succession. They also won 7-0 the last time they hosted Arbroath back in 2016.
Forfar vs Stranraer – Forfar to win and over 1.5 goals @ 1.83
Forfar kicked the new League One campaign off with a 2-0 win over Airdrieonians, they will be hoping to go one better this season as they finished second behind Arbroath last time out. I expect Forfar to win this one and make it back-to-back wins as they are very strong at their home of Station Park. Forfar have won nine of their last ten at home, and eight of those wins included over 1.5 goals. The last time they hosted Stranraer they ran out as 2-1 winners.
Raith vs Clyde – Raith to win and over 1.5 goals @ 2.0
Raith host newly-promoted Clyde on Saturday and it is a great opportunity for them to make it two league wins in succession to start the new season. Raith finished 3rd last campaign but came short in the play-offs as they were well-beaten by the Championship’s Queen of the South. The Rovers’ home form is really good and that’s why I expect them to beat Clyde who haven’t played at this level for a long time.
Albion Rovers vs Cove Rangers – Over 2.5 goals @ 1.60
Albion vs Cove Rangers is a League Two match that I have high hopes for this weekend when it comes to goals. Both clubs began the new season with a bang and were involved in games which had five goals as Albion won 3-2 away from home against Stenhousemuir and Cove Rangers battered Edinburgh City at home as they won by five goals to nil.
The two also had five goals involved in their games during the week as they played in the Scottish Challenge Cup. Albion were beaten 4-1 by Hearts U21 whereas Cove did the opposite as they beat St. Johnstone U21 4-1.
Edinburgh City vs Brechin – Edinburgh City to win @ 1.85
Edinburgh have been well-fancied to be up there this season as they had a decent campaign last time out as they finished in 3rd. However, Edinburgh had a rude awakening in their opening game of the season as they were hammered 5-0 by new boys Cove Rangers.
Edinburgh will fancy themselves to kickstart their season on Saturday as they host Brechin who are quite frankly having a hard time. They were relegated from League One last season after a dreadful campaign and they have already begun 2019/20 with a defeat. They have no wins in their last 12 competitive games and they haven’t won since March.
