Tottenham Hotspur vs Newcastle United – Tottenham win and over 2.5 match goals @1.67
Newcastle have had a woeful start to the season. A 1-0 defeat to a weakened Arsenal side was followed by a 3-1 thumping to newly promoted Norwich City. It doesn’t get any easier this week for Steve Bruce’s Magpies as they face a daunting trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon. They will have little confidence going into this one after looking really poor against Norwich at the weekend with fans already calling for Steve Bruce to be sacked.
Spurs meanwhile have started the season well. A 3-1 home victory over Aston Villa was followed by an entertaining 2-2 draw with Champions Manchester City becoming the first side to take a point away from the Etihad Stadium in 2019. Victory over Newcastle United is literally on a plate for Pottechino this weekend and 3/4 of both sides games has seen over 2.5 match goals.
Norwich vs Chelsea – Teemu Pukki to score anytime @2.7
What a start to the season this lad is having. A opening day goal away at to Liverpool at Anfield was followed by a hat-trick against Newcastle last week. The Finnish International is currently top of the Premier League goalscoring table with 4 goals and will be looking to continue his fine form this weekend when Norwich host winless Chelsea at Carrow Road.
Brighton vs Southampton – Brighton win @1.64
Brighton, maybe surprisingly to some, have started the season in good form. An opening day 3-0 victory over Watford was followed by a 1-1 draw with West Ham. Graham Potter looks like he’s got his side playing some good football this season and a home game against struggling Southampton poses the perfect chance for another win. The Saints are coming into this one on the back of two defeats. A 3-0 opening day thumping away to Burnley was followed by a narrow 2-1 defeat to Liverpool. Ralph Hasenhüttl’s men will have little confidence going into this one.
Manchester United vs Crystal Place – Manchester United to win to nil @2.1
Both sides have had contrasting starts to the new season with the Red Devils picking up four points from two tough fixtures against Chelsea and Wolves. They could’ve easily had six points if Paul Pogba had not seen a late penalty saved at Molineux on Monday night and they’ll be relishing the chance to make up for that this weekend when they take on a Crystal Palace side who are struggling in front of goal. The Eagles have only picked up one point so far this campaign and are yet to find the net in their opening two matches. They also haven’t scored at Old Trafford in their last six visits.
Wolves vs Burnley – Burnley double chance @1.91
With Wolverhampton’s European journey beginning to take shape this week, this could leave them vulnerable in the Premier League. Nuno Espírito Santo’s side fly out to Italy this week to face Torino on Thursday night in the Europa League play off leg before flying 4 hours back to face Burnley on Sunday and then face Torino again on Thursday night at Molineux. They won’t be used to a fixture list like it and this easily could harm their performances in the Premier League.
The Clarets know just how tough it can be. Sean Dyche’s side made a slow start to last season as they struggled to balance the Premier League with the demands of Europa League qualifying. They will be thankful that it’s not them this time around. Many of the Wolves players will be relishing the chance to play European football this season so you won’t fault them if they were to take their eyes off their game against Burnley to focus on the games with Torino more.
