Brighton vs West Ham – Brighton draw no bet @1.75
What a contrast of results these two sides had last weekend. The Seagull’s 3-0 victory over Watford at Vicarage Road was one of the biggest shocks of the opening weekend. Graham Potter has overhauled the shape of his Brighton side and it has evidently improved their style of play. On the other hand, the Hammers crumbled at home to the hands of Manchester City losing 5-0. West Ham just never got going in the game and let’s face it, it should have been more. A defeat like that will have majorly knocked the confidence in the dressing room. The sheer contrast in confidence between the two sides going into this one is why I have went for a Brighton draw no bet.
Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur – Manchester City to win and 2.5 match goals @1.73
The champions looked so strong last week vs West Ham, thrashing them 5-0 at the London Stadium. Pep Guardiola has got his side drilled to near enough to perfection and the more you watch them, the more unstoppable they look. Spurs will bring about a good test for City which is why I am expecting goals in this one (Five in City’s game last week and four in Spurs’). I think the extra quality in players like Sterling, Aguero and De Bruyne will edge it City’s way.
Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur – Raheem Sterling to score anytime @2.1
Sterling scored 17 premier league goals from the left wing for City last season and he was again on fire in last week’s game vs West Ham, scoring a hat-trick at the London Stadium. The 24 year-old likes to get in behind defenders and is clinical in front of goal. With goals expected in this game I think he is really good value @2.1 to score anytime.
Everton vs Watford – Everton to win @1.67
Whilst The Toffees only managed to come away with one point from Selhurst Park last week following a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace, they’ll be full of encouragement going into this one with new attacking threats Alex Iwobi, Moise Kean and Jean-Philippe Gbamin waiting to come in. Everton finished last season with four straight wins at Goodison Park, beating Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and Burnley, so they will look to continue that form going into their first game at Goodison this season. Watford meanwhile will be reeling from a 3-0 drubbing by Brighton.
Southampton vs Liverpool – Liverpool win and over 1.5 match goals @1.62
The Reds have had a solid week. They were crowned UEFA Super Cup 2019 winners after beating Frank Lampard’s Chelsea on penalties during the week and beat Norwich last Friday 4-1 in their opening Premier League fixture. They continue to impress going forward with the likes of Salah and Mane and will be hungry to pick up another win. The Saints meanwhile were left stunned by a 3-0 thumping at Burnley. Playing Liverpool next is a tough match to ask the players to get back on track.
