Portugal -1 handicap @ 1.33
Portugal endured a rough start to their Euro qualifying campaign with two frustrating draws against Ukraine and Serbia. However we saw more of what we expect from this team of superstars as they beat Serbia 4-2 away from home in a thrilling match that looks set to reignite their form.
The Nations League champions looked back to their best on Sunday night and I expect to see more of the same here against a very poor Lithuania team. -1 has landed for Lithuania’s opponents in their last two matches and Portugal are a much stronger side than their previous opponents. Portugal should cruise through this match with relative comfort.
Bernardo Silva to score anytime @ 2.63
With Portugal being heavy favourites for this tie; the goal scorer odds make for pretty grim reading. Cristiano Ronaldo is obviously your go to for a goal, but there’s no value in backing him anytime at a price of 1.33. Bernardo Silva takes my fancy at 2.63, he netted last time out and will be a constant threat throughout the game. His quality from all ranges makes him great value, it could be worth a punt for him to score first at a handsome price of 7.0.
Portugal clean sheet @ 1.30
Portugal have dominated possession and territory in their qualifying matches so far. Their quality in midfield has anchored them in every game so far, regardless of the results their opposition hasn’t had a flurry of chances. Serbia were clinical, by in large to the quality of their forwards; such as Mitrovic.
Lithuania have very little going forward and they lack a true out and out goal threat. If they do manage to conjure up a chance, they don’t have the clinical striker to take it. Portugal won’t have to break a sweat to keep the minnows at bay.
2nd half to have the most goals @ 2.00
As mentioned, Portugal have largely dominated their games but have been frustrating by teams dropping deep to try and get a result. In a game like this, Lithuania will be desperate to keep the score down for as long as possible but inevitably they will tire.
Six of Portugal’s last eight goals have came in the second half and it’s likely that the floodgates will open later in the match as Lithuania drop off after seeing very little of the ball. In a game of very low odds, this looks like a selection with real value.
Lithuania Asian card handicap 0.0 @ 1.57
Lithuania will no doubt grow frustrated and the type of forwards Portugal have learn themselves towards being fouled. The likes of Ronaldo, Felix, Silva and Rafa all love to run with the ball and go past players, as Lithuania tire and are losing the match I expect some tackles to start flying in. In their last four games, Portugal’s opponents have received a total of 10 cards and earned at least two per game. A Lithuania -1.0 card handicap could also prove to be great value at 2.20.
