Remi Garde’s Montreal Impact host Orlando City on Saturday evening and the hosts will be quietly confident of picking up a win as they sit third in the Eastern Conference after a fairly strong start to the season. They’re preparing to take on an Orlando side who have only won once in their last 20 attempts on the road and have lost four of their last five games.
Montreal go into Saturday’s game having already won at home this week following a 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake thanks to goals from Omar Browne and Saphir Taider. Orlando were beaten 1-0 at home by LA Galaxy last time out and they’re really starting to falter as they find themselves 10th in the conference above only FC Cincinnati and New England Revolution. The Lions have never made the play-offs during their time as a Major League Soccer franchise, so they will need to get themselves into gear if they want a chance of breaking that duck in 2019.
The two sides last met in March and it was Montreal who came out victorious. The Canadian side won 3-1 at Orlando City Stadium and it was their fifth win from their last six meetings with Orlando, winning the last four on the trot. Ignacio Piatti was the difference between the two sides as he scored a brace on the day and Montreal will be hoping that he can have a similar impact this time around.
Both sides are experiencing good fortunes when it comes to the treatment room as neither side have many players ruled out through injury. Montreal have both Clement Bayiha and Orji Okwonkwo absent with leg injuries and Orlando have just one player out as Carlos Ascues as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.
All things point to a Montreal Impact win and 1.85 looks like really good value for that selection. Orlando City are infamously bad away from home and that is proven by a shocking record of just a singular win in their last 20. Montreal dominate the head to head record having won 83% of the meetings, including the last four in succession, and they look good to continue in that manner.
Under 2.5 goals is 1.90 and that also looks like a good value bet for this fixture. There has only been three or more goals in just two of Orlando’s last ten away games and there has been under 2.5 goals in five of Montreal’s last six home games, therefore I would be backing against goals on Saturday. Montreal have also had a hard time finding the net at home as they have only scored five goals in their last five, as well as failing to score in two of their last three.
Ignacio Piatti is the main man in Montreal and he is also the most influential. The Argentinian has scored three goals in five appearances for far this season including two against Orlando when the two sides met back in March. Piatti is priced at 2.10 to find the back of the net against Orlando once more on Saturday.
Montreal Impact Win @ 1.85
Under 2.5 goals @ 1.90
Ignacio Piatti to score anytime @ 2.10
