LA Galaxy take on the Seattle Sounders this weekend after picking up an important 2-0 win over FC Dallas during the week. The Galaxy had previously lost their last three on the bounce which were all away from home, so it was important to get that win as they returned to Dignity Health Sports Park.
The Galaxy will consider this perfect timing to face Seattle as they have struck a rocky patch of form with no wins in their last three, a run of games where they conceded nine goals. Their most recent outing was a 3-0 defeat at Real Salt Lake on Wednesday night.
Both sides are positioned positively within the Western Conference as they currently occupy play-off spots. This could change soon if form doesn’t change for the better, and it looks like the LA Galaxy are more likely to go on a run of picking up good results as they started during the week against Dallas.
The last meeting between these two was hosted by LA Galaxy and it was a comfortable 3-0 win for them thanks to goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ola Kamara and Ema Boateng. It could be Ibrahimovic who has another big impact against the Sounders this weekend.
The Galaxy will be without Romain Alessandrini who is ruled out for the foreseeable future as he is still in recovery following knee surgery. New star signing Cristian Pavon, on loan from Argentinian side Boca Juniors, is expected to make another start against Seattle this weekend.
Seattle Sounders will miss Will Bruin, Alex Roldan and Brad Smith who are all ruled out and side-lined through injury. The Sounders also have further injury problems as Gustav Svensson, Victor Rodriguez and Kelvin Leerdam are all listed as doubts.
LA Galaxy to win the match comes at an excellent price of 2.05. I am surprised that they aren’t odds on in all honesty, against a Seattle side who are in seriously poor form and are leaking goals without showing any signs of stopping. The Galaxy will be confident after their recent performances at home, picking up back-to-back wins against strong rivals LAFC before dispatching FC Dallas.
There are goals in this match for LA Galaxy and I expect them to grab a couple at a minimum. They have scored five goals in their last two at home and now they face Seattle who have conceded at least three times in each of their last three games… LA Galaxy to score 2 or more goals can be found at 1.72 and you can get them to score 3 or more at 3.25. The Galaxy won 3-0 the last time the Sounders came to town, there’s no reason why Ibrahimovic and co can’t score three again this time around.
