Southend just cannot seem to break out of this shocking run of results no matter what they try. They have only won once in the league all season and that was in September. They truly do look a lost cause and it is difficult to tell if they will win a match anytime soon.
Rovers are ticking along nicely and are unbeaten in eight matches in all competitions. That will fill Graham Coughlan’s side with confidence ahead of what should be a straight forward home win.
MK, similarly to Southend, have been abysmal all season. Their last league win came in September – 11 games ago. They are in a woeful run of form and it will be tough for inexperienced manager Russell Martin to turn it around.
Doncaster are a solid team built on hard work and energy. They usually do well against the worse teams in this league as they showed in their 7-1 annihilation over Southend.
Oxford have been lethal in front of goal this campaign. Only Peterborough United have scored more than them in League One this season. The U’s are one of two clubs who average more than two goals scored per game in this division. They are usually deadly at home – scoring 18 times in their seven home matches so far.
Two quality teams will be on show here in what should be a very entertaining match. Everyone knows the quality which Posh have in their attack. Three of the top five scorers in the league play for them – Mo Eisa, Ivan Toney and Marcus Maddison.
Pompey have settled into a good bit of form recently are are now only two points off the play-offs. Both teams have scored in seven of their last eight fixtures. Goals should be likely in this one.
This match should be suited perfectly for Rotherham. Paul Warne’s side love to play on the counter attack and that is exactly what they will do in this game. Rochdale nearly always have more of the ball than their opponents but have been struggling to turn possession into goals and wins.
When Rotherham do get the ball, expect the pace of Freddie Ladapo to cause the Rochdale defence all sorts of problems. Definitely see the Millers winning this.
