MyBetBuddy’s EFL expert takes a look through the weekend’s fixtures in League One and picks out his five best bets.
These two teams are fairly evenly matched which makes predicting a result here a tough challenge. Goals could flow in this game though. Blackpool have seen both teams score in two of their last three fixtures.
Rotherham’s midweek match with Doncaster Rovers finished 3-2 to the Millers so that bodes well for entertaining game on Saturday.
Rovers are in excellent form. A run of six games unbeaten has seen them surge up the table. They have won their last three in all competitions which will give them confidence to take into this match on Saturday.
MK have lost five of their last six competitive games. The only result that they have picked up in that time was against Fulham U21s in the EFL Trophy.
Karl Robinson’s team have been in sensational form as they march up the League One table. The U’s are unbeaten in their last five league outings.
Doncaster have only won one match in their last six in all competitions. That is concerning for Darren Moore as his team did have a bright start to the season.
Pompey finally look to be turning their season around after a catastrophic start. They have won their last two league games to help them rise up the league. The only home defeat they have had this season was in the EFL Cup against Premier League rivals Southampton.
Gillingham are a steady team but do not match Pompey in terms of quality. Gills only have one win in their last five so expect a home win here.
These two teams will both be aiming to stay up this campaign after terrible starts. There will not be much quality on show here as two of the division’s worse sides come up against each other. Southend’s last two home games have had under 2.5 goals. Can see this one being a boring stalemate.
