Real Madrid vs Club Brugge – Real Madrid ‘to win and over 2.5 goals’ @ 1.57

Real Madrid kicked off the new Champions League campaign with a comprehensive defeat at the hands of a weakened PSG last time out so they will need a big win here to bounce back and get their own fans back onside. This is a match that presents Madrid with a great opportunity to get three points on the board, and they should thrash Belgian side Club Brugge who can only be described as ‘minnows’ in a competition of this stature, with all due respect.

16 of Real Madrid’s last 17 home matches in the Champions League have seen over 2.5 goals and that should happen again on Tuesday with Madrid picking up an important win at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Atalanta vs Shakhtar Donetsk – Atalanta ‘to win’ @ 1.80

Just like Real Madrid, Atalanta will be wanting a reaction here as they lost their first match of the campaign as they were beaten away from home by Dinamo Zagreb. The Italian side will fancy themselves as the second-best team in the group with hopes of finishing behind Manchester City, but in order to do that, they will need some points, starting with this week’s home match against Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Ukrainian side are in good form but it’s one of those leagues which you can’t read into too much as there is a serious gulph in class between the stronger and weaker clubs. Atalanta are strong at home, and Shakhtar don’t travel well in Europe, therefore I fancy a home win in this fixture.

Juventus vs Leverkusen – Juventus ‘to win’ @ 1.50

Juventus threw away a 2-0 lead in their opening match against Atletico Madrid which must have left a bad taste in the mouth. I believe they will put that behind them though and beat Leverkusen comfortably when they meet in Turin.

Juventus’ home form is incredible as they are unbeaten in their last 24 matches in Serie A, a run stretching all the way back to April 2018. It will take an impressive and monumental effort for the German side to pick up a result here.

Crvena Zvezda vs Olympiakos – Under 2.5 goals @ 1.80

Looking at the line-up of Champions League matches on Tuesday evening, this simply must be the least attractive fixture. I believe that it will live up to that presumption and be an extremely boring affair with a minimal amount of goals.

These two have it incredibly tough as they share a group with both Tottenham and Bayern Munich, so they are effectively fighting for a spot in the Europa League. It’s a typical ‘must not lose’ type of game and whoever does will be up against it from there on in. I think we will notice this as it plays out with it being a close fought encounter with one or no goals in it.

Liverpool vs Red Bull Salzburg – Liverpool ‘to win and over 2.5 goals’ @ 1.53

Onto Wednesday night. This is one of those games that you look at on paper and you just think that it absolutely screams goals – which it does. We all know how deadly Liverpool are going forward, but so are Red Bull Salzburg who are top of their domestic league averaging 5.44 goals a game and hammered Genk 6-2 in their opening Champions League game.

The pressure isn’t on Salzburg here who already have three points on the board, but it is on Liverpool who lost their first match against Napoli away from home. I expect Liverpool to get back on track here with a high-scoring win in which Salzburg will probably find the net and some point too.
