Well, what a sensational performance we saw from Bryson DeChambeau at the weekend, as he tamed Winged Foot to win his first Major Championship by 6 shots in the US Open, finishing as the only player under par. He told everybody what he was going to do and executed it perfectly, despite people’s insistence it wasn’t possible. Matt Wolff couldn’t hold him off despite entering the final round with the lead, though the young star kept up his excellent run in majors with a 2nd place finish to add to his 4th at the PGA. Though he’s sure to be disappointed he’ll get plenty more chances over the next 20 years of his career. It was also a good week for the preview as we secured places for Harris English (60/1) and Will Zalatoris (150/1) to make for a profitable event.
Slight change of pace and place this week as we head to Galgorm Castle Golf Club, Ballymena, Northern Ireland for the Irish Open on the European Tour. Despite missing some of the very biggest names the tour has to offer, it’s still a solid European Tour field.
