Scott Parker’s Fulham returned to the Premier League with a tough opening day match against big six side Arsenal. The newly promoted Championship side conceded three goals without really threatening Arsenal in this London derby. The take away for me was even though it was the first match of the season and perpetrations were hindered with a short summer break, Fulham looked tired and lacked any sort of creativity never threatening the Arsenal goal. With Aleksandar Mitrovic on the bench along with new GK Alphonse Areola who signed from PSG in the summer for £18m not featuring, this was a lackluster performance. Parker will be looking for more at Portman Road on Wednesday night when he takes his side to face Ipswich Town in the EFL Cup second round.
